Sweet Cabaret

For the last 17 years we have enjoyed an amazing run with our signature
event Sweet Cabaret! It is essential to the growth of our society that we
continue to attract new supporters, keep our events fresh and stay current.
We are truly grateful to all the people and collaborators who made Cabaret
such a success and look forward to having you all join us for our new event
to continue the important work of Father Champlin’s Guardian Angel

The last Sweet Cabaret was held on February 10, 2018 where we honored the life and legacy of our founder, Father Joseph Champlin, who passed away more than 10 years ago. Father radiated a certain kind of wisdom, compassion and love that was like no other. He was one of a kind and was known to impact people’s lives he touched, especially the children he served. At this year’s event, we shared the spirit of Father and his commitment to make the world a better place by educating one child at a time.

Sweet Cabaret at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown (formerly Hotel Syracuse), also celebrated all that we have accomplished together because YOU play a pivotal part in the success of Father’s mission.

“Fine Dining for a Fine Education”

Father Champlin's Guardian Angel SocietyFather ran in the annual Camillus Memorial Day Race for many years before his death in 2008 to raise money for “his kids”. Chris Cesta would support Father’s fundraising efforts by giving donors a dinner certificate to his wonderful restaurant, The Inn Between. Chris continues the tradition and rewards every contribution of $88 or more with a dinner certificate. As explained by Kathy & Dan Cantone, frequent supporters of this endeavor: “We’ve been blessed in contributing to Father Champlin’s legacy for the past 15 years! Our annual gift of the Memorial Day Race “Dinner Certificate” to family and friends is in memory of Father’s deep faith, love of children, dedication to fitness, and delight in the delicious cuisine and neighborly hospitality at The Inn Between.”

Bruno Presents The Original Wise Guys!

While the plight facing many of Father’s kids isn’t funny, this night of comedy is always a ton of laughs! On Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 8pm, Bruno Schirripa brought his ORIGINAL WISE GUYS stand up comedy production back to The Palace Theater in Eastwood to benefit Father Champlin’s Guardian Angel Society. Our sincere gratitude to Bruno and all who helped to make the first two wonderful shows possible.

The 2017 show raised over $7,000 by an audience of over 400 people. 2018 featured:

Joey Kola from the hit sitcom “Kevin Can Wait” and “The Rachel Ray Show”. Joey has been on the comedy scene since the early 80’s getting his start in NYC clubs and working his way around the country, and now to TV fame! Joey and Bruno met in Pittsburgh back in the early 80’s and became fast friends quickly. His energy and character are infectious! You quickly fall in love with this guy and don’t want him to stop, but he has to stop so your stomach stops hurting from laughing.

– Back by popular demand: Jim Dailakis! Jim, from Perth, Australia, appeared in the first BRUNO PRESENTS THE ORIGINAL WISE GUYS and people constantly ask when he will be back.

Don’t miss the 2019 show – date to be announced soon!
